LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — St. Johns Police and several other departments swarmed an area of town this morning looking for a man suspected of trying to break into vehicles. According to police, the “shelter in place” order was lifted after officers – along with a K9 officer – determined the suspect had gotten into a vehicle and left the area. Police said the man may be armed due to recent similar thefts of guns being stolen from vehicles.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — East Lansing Police have identified the two homicide victims who were found inside a freezer on Nov. 7, 2024. Police say the two people who were found dead at Coolidge Place Townhomes are Susan Barbara Weerawat, 76, and the remains of the body of Pramort Weerawat, 72. The couple’s son, Jason Weerawat, 37, was the only suspect and he was found in Detroit in July 2024 after taking his own life.

(WLNS) — Tuesday afternoon, two young adults and three teenagers were involved in a high-speed police chase that began in Livingston County and ended in Lansing, according to Livingston County. Shortly after 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office say they tried to pull over a stolen 2020 black BMW X5, but the driver wouldn’t stop, leading to a chase on I-96 into Brighton, which turned into a dead-end street.

NOTE: At 2:15 officials said the boy had been found. LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Ingham County officials are asking people to be on the lookout for a missing 9-year-old boy in Williamston. According to the county, the 9-year-old boy was last seen wearing a purple fleece. He was also last seen in the Georgia and Wallace St area of town. Officials have not released the boy’s identity at this time. If you see this boy or know anything about his whereabouts you are asked to call 911.
Jackson homeowner shoots, injures homeless intruder, police say

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Jackson police arrested a 40-year-old homeowner after they say he shot and injured a man in his home who was not supposed to be there. According to police, officers were called to the 300 block of North Gorham St at 5:44 Monday morning for a reported shooting. Officers found a man who had been shot in the “neck area” by a handgun, police say. Emergency responders took the person to the hospital where he remains in critical condition according to police.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Jackson police arrested someone Sunday after a shooting in town. According to police, officers were called to the 300 block of North Gorham St for a reported shooting. There officers found a person who had been shot and injured. Emergency responders took the person to the hospital in an unknown condition. Police tell 6 News officers also arrested someone but did not identify the suspect. The name, age, or gender of the victim has also not been released.
