WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A Chicago-based law office now represents a dozen families, including some from Kansas, whose loved ones were killed in the January 29 mid-air collision in Washington D.C.The collision between American Airlines Flight 5342 and an Army helicopter happened seconds before the plane was scheduled to land at Reagan National Airport. In the National Transportation Safety Board’s preliminary report into the crash, the agency called for limited helicopter traffic around the airport.

GODDARD, Kan. (KWCH) - A tattoo shop in Goddard is warning customers of a possible new scam affecting many shops across the country. Squid Ink Tattoo Studio came to FactFinder after a customer believed they had set up an appointment at their shop, only to quickly find out she had lost money in the scam. Ellie Taylor is the owner and only tattoo artist at the shop, but this new scam makes it appear as if she works with many more artists in her small shop.

(KWCH) - The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says two people have been arrested after a police pursuit near the Unbound Gravel Bike Race led to sheriff’s deputy vehicle being hit and rolled over in a ditch. On Saturday morning, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office were conducting traffic control near the bike race.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Memorial Day weekend is often referred to as the unofficial start of summer. Many are spending the extended weekend camping out at El Dorado and Cheney Lake. However, those campers are having to battle the elements as for several nights in a row, strong storms have passed through Kansas during the overnight hours. One camper at Cheney Lake said his tent wasn’t able to keep out all the rain.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A 28-year-old man has serious injuries after a shooting Sunday morning in southeast Wichita. Wichita Police say at around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2500 of S. Oliver. There officers found a man suffering from a serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police believe the victim and the suspect know each other. This is an ongoing investigation.
