DeWitt, NY - Another business is planning to move into the shopping plaza that houses the DeWitt Wegmans store and other retailers. Canandaigua National Bank is proposing to build a 5,100-square-foot bank in the plaza’s parking lot. The bank would be built at 6797 E. Genesee St., on the eastern side of the site in an under-used portion of the parking lot. It would be adjacent to several smaller businesses, including a fitness studio, boutique clothing store and hair salon.

DeWitt, NY - Jamesville-DeWitt, which has faced criticism this school year from parents for its handling of repeated threats from a student to staff members, is considering installing a weapons detection system. Jamesville-DeWitt is in the early stages but is “seriously considering” installing a system, Superintendent Peter Smith said.
