A GAA club has lodged planning permission for upgrades to their pitch and stands. St Mary’s GFC in Saggart have applied for permission to replace their outdoor pitch with a “synthetic grass 3G all-weather pitch to a maximum size of 139m x 87m”. 3G pitches are third generation artificial grass pitches designed to meet the needs of different sports by closely replicating the playing characteristics of natural turf.

Major concerns have been raised over the height and suitability of a planned apartment building in Tallaght Village. Plans were lodged earlier this year for 38 apartments on the Main Road in Tallaght Village at the site known as Bruce House, where a Bank of Ireland branch was located for many years.

Ltd, who operate the Specialized Bicycle bike shop in Citywest Business Campus, have applied for planning permission to convert a portion of the building they occupy into a restaurant.

RTÉ’s DIYSOS team are coming to Tallaght and need your help to change a young boy’s life. Baz and the The Big Build Ireland team will be in Killinarden, Tallaght, from Tuesday, July 29, to Thursday, August 7, to rally the troops to help local boy, Cayden O’Connor, who is in need of an adapted home. Nine-year-old Cayden was born with a condition called Arthrogryposis which affects his hands and feet.

A community clean-up initiative has helped to remove thousands of bags of litter and rubbish from the South Dublin Uplands since last November. Pure Mile encourages communities and groups to adopt a mile (or miles) of road and work with Pure organising litter picks and clean ups. These clean-up events have resulted in the collection of over 1,700 bags of litter, rubbish, and dumping, from the Wicklow and Dublin upland environment, all by thousands of Pure Mile Volunteers.
