Five people, including two children, have been injured following a serious road crash in County Sligo this afternoon. Gardai and emergency services responded after two cars collided on the N59 in Ballysadare shortly before 2:30pm. The occupants of the first car, two women aged in their 40s and 20s, along with a 9-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were brought to Sligo University Hospital with serious injuries.

Leitrim crash victim Dessie O'Kelly has been remembered as a "likeable rascal" who "lived life to the full" at his funeral Mass. The 18-year-old died when the tractor he was a passenger in collided at Aghavilla, Carrigallen, on Tuesday afternoon. He used to attend Carrigallen Vocational School, who expressed their deep sadness at his death. He was also a former altar server, had an outgoing personality, and was doing an agricultural course.
