A Hennepin County judge last week dismissed a lawsuit filed by several business owners who argued the city of Minneapolis was at fault for the declining revenue and real estate value of their businesses in the aftermath of George Floyd's murder. In November, five businesses located at the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue near where Floyd was killed by police in 2020, demanded the city begin eminent domain proceedings to take over their properties and pay $30 million in damages.

By Elliot Hughes Police are investigating 16 reports of damaged Pride flags outside homes in two St. Paul neighborhoods, along with another report of vandalism at a nearby bookstore. The incidents appear to have happened in the overnight hours, and St. Paul police are asking residents in the Highland Park and Macalester-Groveland neighborhoods to review their surveillance camera footage.

SexWorld, Minneapolis' adult entertainment store that was once three floors tall, featured a live peepshow and became a rite of passage to visit in the Twin Cities, will close its doors permanently June 29. The closure was confirmed by Hailey Buchanan of D.B. Graphics, which owns the store and the THC Joint, a downtown Minneapolis smoke shop also slated to close. Buchanan indicated the closures were the result of economic stress and regulations over the sale of THC.
