VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) - Katie Cannon and her husband have escaped the dangers of high waters, but the same can’t be said for their home. Almost a week after leaving their home, six feet of water now fills their lowest level. “We almost never see the river rise as fast as it did and as high as it did,” Cannon said. Only now is the Ohio River approaching it’s crest, but Cannon and others in Union Township have been out of their homes since Saturday.

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - In Owensboro, crews have shut down parts of Veterans Boulevard, as the Ohio River is starting to spill over into Smothers Park. Officials say Veterans is closed between Frederica and Allen Streets. Our Skycam captured video of crews putting up barricades. That area will be closed until further notice. City officials say a large portion of Smothers Park is also temporarily closed.

He says he was watching 14 News Sunrise Monday morning, saw all the flood damage in Dawson Springs, and wanted to help. Early reports show the tornado that ripped through the farm early Saturday was an EF-2. The family is working to rebuild, and they’re getting help from the community.
