GREENVILLE — The aunt of young twin boys who were shot — one fatally — during a shootout at a Greenville County apartment complex has been arrested after authorities say she kept them and her own children in "deplorable living conditions."Stanice Joy Acoy, 32, was arrested April 28 on five charges that include child neglect, drugs and weapons violations, Greenville County Sheriff's Office Lt. Ryan Flood said in an April 29 news release.

GREENVILLE — One young child is dead and another unlikely to survive after gunfire erupted late afternoon April 25 at the Belle Meade apartments in what Greenville County's sheriff said was a senseless shootout claiming innocent victims. The two children, who were brothers, were both under age 10 and were inside an apartment when they were struck during a shooting that happened in the apartment's parking lot, Sheriff Hobart Lewis said at a late evening press conference.

GREENVILLE — The haunting reminders can be found in the wreckage of the massive trunks and limbs diced up along the roadside, still carrying their crunchy, brown, dead leaves. These once-majestic trees — many a century in the making — never got to put on their colorful seasonal display and shed gracefully as fall turned to winter. Instead, the follow-through punch of what was Hurricane Helene rendered them projectiles as night turned to day on Sept. 27 in the Upstate.
