Conti Costanti: Montalcino’s MostHistoric EstateBY ERIC GUIDO | OCTOBER 01, 2024Legacy matters, especially when it goes back over five hundred years. 2013Brunello di Montalcino: The Throwback VintageBY ERIC GUIDO | FEBRUARY 01, 2024Montalcino’s climate and wines have greatly changed over the last 20years, and that change accelerates with every passing vintage. BY ERIC GUIDO | DECEMBER 14, 2023Italy does a fantasticjob covering all the bases and nearly always at reasonable prices. The Franciacorta,Trentodoc and Alta Langa categories can provide excellent Champagnealternatives. The wines are made using Metodo Classico or Metodo Ancestrale(both méthode champenoise) and a similar set of varieties, with Chardonnay andPinot Noir making up the bulk of production. BY ERIC GUIDO | NOVEMBER 30, 2023Tasting through the newreleases from Sardinia is always exciting, as each portfolio boasts a mix of varieties and styles that contrast andcomplement each other. However, winemaking here has its challenges, much ofthat because of arid conditions and extreme warmth that created the sun-kissedstyle that sets Sardinia apart. Italian by definition, Sardinia has a rich history heavily influenced by Africa,Spain, France and Italy.
