JACKSON --Codi Ruge has gone four-for-four. The Lumen Christi junior made school history over the weekend by being a part of her fourth district championship in one school year. Ruge was part of a district-title winning volleyball team in the fall, then won district and regional titles in girls basketball in the winter. That was just a prelude to her spring, where she helped capture district titles in softball and soccer.

JACKSON -- The state track meets were held on Saturday at several locations around Michigan with plenty of Jackson-area athletes coming home with medals, and one team taking away a state championship. Here are the results for Jackson-area track and field athletes. Addison’s Molly Brown added more state championships to her resume. Brown won the 100 in 12.19 to beat Lincoln Alcona’s Addi Beatty by 0.05 seconds. She defended her state title in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.33.

The second day of state tennis crowned state champions at venues around Michigan. One point decided the Division 1 tennis state championship, the Division 2 title race was not nearly that close, and 2024 state champions defended their titles in Division 3 and Division 4. Northville’s 23 points proved just barely enough to claim the state title by one point over Utica Eisenhower. One point also meant the difference between third and fourth, where Novi snuck by Rochester Adams.

JACKSON --The Lumen Christi baseball team is headed back to the regional semifinal after beating Jonesville 10-0 on Saturday in the district final. Wesley Learned pitched six no-hit innings and struck out 10 for the Titans in the district final. Ethan Hammer eventually singled off reliever Brodie Gregory to break-up the no-hit bid in the seventh, but Lumen Christi ended it with a double play. Benny Gaston drove in three runs.
