JACKSON -- Lumen Christi kept the play at Macomb Lutheran North’s end much of the way, and led much of the way, in Tuesday’s Catholic League girls soccer game at Crowley Memorial Field, but a late equalizer from the Mustangs resulted in a 1-1 tie. Lutheran North made a late change which paid off well, pulling goalkeeper Logan Solo out of the net and putting her up top for the final 10 minutes of the game.

JACKSON -- Strong performances in multiple events at Friday’s Napoleon Invitational resulted in Northwest Mounties putting their names all over this week’s leaderboard. Leland Lindemeyer went 21’5.5 in the long jump to claim the top spot. Lindemeyer was also part of a 4x100 relay, along with Cameron Parker, Aiden Tryon and Hunter Samulak, which jumped into the leaderboard, and a 4x200 with Tryon, Samulak and Hunter Cooper which did the same. Cooper also joins the rankings in the 800.

JACKSON - Invitationals at Napoleon, Grass Lake, Olivet and Fowler gave area track and field athletes a chance to shine last week, and a chance to rewrite the Jackson-area girls track leaderboard. Whereas a week ago some teams had not yet heard the first starter’s pistol of 2025, now most of the area teams have gotten at least one meet in.
