    OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tennessee man will spend the next 20 years in Federal prison for driving under the influence and manslaughter. In January of 2025, Connor Milhorn pleaded guilty in Federal Court to Aggravated DUI Causing Death and Aggravated DUI Causing Serious Bodily Injury to a Minor Child. The charges stem from a May 11, 2024, crash on the Natchez Trace Parkway near Marietta. That crash killed Alan Lee Langford of Tupelo.

    LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County residents are helping the Sheriff’s Office protect its four-legged officers. At the June 16 Board of Supervisors meeting, Sheriff Eddie Hawkins accepted a donation of just over $18,000 to buy two new ballistic vests for the Sheriff’s Office’s K-9s. The vests protect the dogs from bullets and knives while they are on the job.

Supervisors passed a resolution to provide up to $15,000 to help the MUW Foundation hire a public relations firm to get the word out as to why MSMS should stay in Columbus.

    PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help to find a missing teenager. 17-year-old Tristyn Skylar Shouse was last seen at about 10:15 pm on Sunday, June 15, at his home on Highway 366 in the Marietta Community. At the time, he was wearing a black shirt with a video game print on the front, green and black Under Armour shorts, and grey Under Armour shoes. Tristyn is autistic.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – People were lining up outside of WCBI to give blood on June 13. We teamed up with Vitalant for this year’s Save Our Summer campaign. Vitalant’s mobile unit was set up outside the station from 12 pm to 5 pm to give folks in Columbus a chance to roll up their sleeves and give the gift of life. Donors received a t-shirt, a $10 gift card from Vitalant’s Rewards Store, and the chance to win one of two 10 thousand dollar gift cards to be given away.
