The Milwaukee Bucks are getting healthier as the playoffs draw nearer. Damian Lillard is out to start the playoffs, but the Bucks should have Jericho Sims back for Game 1 against the Pacers on Saturday. Sims has been out since injuring his thumb on March 16. However, Milwaukee head coach Doc Rivers said he thinks the backup center will be ready to play when the playoffs start this weekend. "Yes. I think so, pretty sure of that," Rivers said of Sims' being active against Indiana.

On March 15, when the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers met for the final time this regular season, it was the 15th time the two teams had played each other in a little more than 16 months. After a playoff series last season and plenty of regular-season drama the last two seasons, Bucks coach Doc Rivers was asked if he noticed the two teams in medium-sized Midwest markets treating each other as rivals. "I think the two medium markets notice, I don't know if anyone else notices," Rivers joked.

With four days until Game 1 of their first-round series against the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers told reporters Tuesday that the organization is "hopeful" that point guard Damian Lillard will be able to play at some point in the series, though the team's most recent update keeps the nine-time All-Star out indefinitely. "We're hopeful," Rivers said when asked if there was any possibility of Lillard playing in the first round.

Before the Milwaukee Bucks played the Pistons in Detroit on Friday, head coach Doc Rivers offered an assessment of his team's defense. "We like our defense," Rivers said. "We don't like our transition defense right now. That's one area where we thought we were doing great, and it's kind of slipped away."That weakness was on full display on consecutive defensive possessions in the first quarter on Friday.

DETROIT - Following the Milwaukee Bucks' 125-119 victory over the Detroit Pistons, Giannis Antetokounmpo's teammate, Kevin Porter Jr., had a sense he knew how Pistons players were feeling in the home locker room. He used to feel it, too. "I hated it when I was on the opposing team," Porter said.

Doc: It's the first part of the play-in. That's basically what it is. It's going to be a great experience. I'm looking forward to it. I think the crowd in Detroit is going to be amazing. They're going to play hard. They're going to play well. And we're going to have to match it.

Doc Rivers confirmed that all of the players leaving the bench early was a function of trying to get to Detroit quicker. He joked that when we leave the interview room and head to the locker room there will be no one there for us to interview.
