TUCSON, Ariz. — Members of the University of Arizona community are mourning the loss of Former Athletic Director, Dr. Cedric Dempsey. Dempsey died at the age of 92, the University announced on Saturday night. He served as the Wildcat's Athletic Director for 11 years, beginning in 1983. Under Dempsey's leadership, he was well known for hiring iconic coaches like Lute Olson, Dick Tomey and Mike Candrea.

The University of Arizona and Barnes agreed to a contract extension through the 2025-26 season in 2021. The five-year contract included a salary of $5.85 million. Pima Women's Basketball falls to Johnson County in NJCAA National Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. — Pima Women's Basketball lost to Johnson County College in the NJCAA Division II National Championship 75-67 on Saturday night. In a very evenly matched game, there were 12 ties and 16 lead changes. The Aztecs shot 25 of 59 from the field, the Cavaliers shot 24 of 59. Pima was led by sophomore guard, Amelie Buffill-Gutierez, from off the bench with 18 points. But Johnson County was able to pull away in the fourth quarter, ending the Aztecs season.
