College of Engineering Dean Michelle Scherer has selected Shane Oberloier, assistant teaching professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, for this spring’s Deans’ Teaching Showcase.
Oberloier will be recognized at an end-of-term event with other spring showcase members and is a candidate for the CTL Instructional Award Series.

The Diversity Literacy Online Workshop training (DLOW) for the 2024-25 academic year remains open for registration; however, all fall refresher courses are full. There is still plenty of space in the full courses (both fall and spring) and in the two spring refresher courses.
If your DLOW status is only valid through spring 2025, please register for one of the spring refresher courses. If you are new faculty, please consider registering for one of the full courses.

Michigan Tech IT and the Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs are nearing the completion of a yearlong project to restore automatic uploads of Sponsored Research data to Digital Measures at Michigan Tech (DM). To facilitate the final steps, users, unit leaders and assistants should not run reports or pull Sponsored Research data from Digital Measures starting today, Aug. 26, through next Monday, Sept. 2.

Michigan Tech cross country and track and field student-athletes Nick McKenzie, Sam Lange and Hannah Loughlin have been named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators. The organization recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Michigan Tech's faculty trip to Washington, D.C., has a long-standing tradition of connecting researchers to funding agencies and other collaboration opportunities in the nation’s capital city.
New this year, the Research Development (RD) office is helping to plan research theme-focused trips while keeping many of the programmatic staples. With focused trips, we are expecting to have two to three smaller trips per year.

Educational Session: Export Controls and Foreign National Restrictions
The Vice President for Research Office will host an educational session, "Review of Export Controls and Foreign National Restrictions," from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 2) in the Memorial Union Building Ballroom (B side).
This session is designed to help faculty and staff understand and address export controls/foreign national restrictions considerations when conducting research.

The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) has been collecting data on the salary received by higher education administrators for almost 60 years. For the past 20 years they have been collecting data on the gender of their respondents, and for the past decade they have been collecting racial-ethnic information, which has allowed them to assess their data in new ways.
