Jay Brown appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after he pleaded guilty to three charges of assault and obstructing cops. The 25-year-old was visibly angry when officers walked into his bedroom at 8am on March 1, 2024. They were there because Brown's mother called them, due to his son's behaviour.

Joseph Breslin was spotted by officers at 10pm on August 21, 2021, driving on Hopeman Avenue. Officers signalled for him to stop, which he did. But, as a cop got out of his car to speak to Breslin and take his details, he sped off. Police jumped back in the vehicle and gave chase, across Kyleakin Road and Nitshill Road. Breslin was speeding on the wrong side of the road. The 45-year-old also overtook a row of vehicles waiting at a red light, using the opposite lane.

Peter Cowan appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after he pleaded guilty to punching Joseph Edward Allmark in the face and pushing him. The two men were friends and Mr Allmark invited Cowan to stay with him in a Sighthill property. On December 5, last year, Cowan got there at 8.30am, heavily intoxicated. He continued drinking and after a short while, became aggressive, so Mr Allmark asked him to leave. He refused.

First Bus drivers were delighted to be invited to a Ramadan event to mark the end of the Muslim holiday characterised by fasting, communal prayer, reflection and community. One participant said: "It's important because it shows our faith. It's the first time we've had a party like this. "We had a great time and it really makes us feel valued as employees. "I am proud to work for this company." During the celebration, workers gathered to share a meal at the company's Blantyre city depot.
