EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) — A community is in shock after four workers were killed in a crash that the highway patrol is now investigating. On Thursday afternoon, contractors for Duke Energy were working on powerlines in the area of Church and Carroll Streets in Eden when a city dump truck failed to stop at the intersection, hitting six men. Four were killed instantly. They were identified by troopers as:Two others, a 24-year-old and a 34-year-old, were taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The CFO of one of the largest school districts in the Piedmont Triad will resign in the coming months. Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools confirmed that their chief financial officer, Tony Kranz, announced on Tuesday night that he would be resigning from the district effective June 30, 2025.

Missions of Mercy is holding a free mobile dental clinic in High Point for adults who can’t afford or don’t have access to oral healthcare. Doors opened at 6 a.m. on Friday at Williams Memorial CME Church on Triangle Lake Road.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Several people have been displaced after a fire at a Greensboro apartment building. Officials are investigating after a fire broke out early Friday morning at Legacy Crossing apartments on Hahns Lane, off Franklin Boulevard. Greensboro Fire Department says that the Red Cross is helping 15 people who were displaced, with six units damaged and the power cut to the building.
