Eleven years ago, I got a phone call from a coach in the area who said I had to cover a television story on an 11-year-old track phenom. Normally, we didn’t do stories on athletes that young, but the coach insisted there was nothing “normal” about Brandon Miller's running ability. Not only was Miller the best runner in the region, but he was also the top runner in his age bracket across the entire United States.

The feat of endurance, totaling 100 miles, is all to raise money for the Rett Spectrum Clinic in St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.
