SHREVEPORT, La. — For the third year in a row, Shreveport leads the state in DWI arrests. The Shreveport Police Department’s DWI unit is on patrol four nights a week, targeting impaired drivers across the city. On a recent Friday night at 10:30 p.m., Sgt. D.J. Belanger began his shift in southeast Shreveport, joined by three other officers. “Currently, we have three officers and myself—so four of us total—patrolling the entire city,” said Belanger.

SHREVEPORT, La. — The cause of a SporTran bus exploding is still being investigated. Nearly 40 compressed natural gas buses — just like the one that exploded — were inspected overnight. Seven inspectors worked for hours, double-checking every system to make sure each bus is running safely. SporTran said the fire started small, but it took nearly 15 minutes to reach the CNG tank, causing the explosion. SIBLEY, La. – After swelling above its banks and triggering flood warnings, Bayou Dorcheat has now dipped back below flood stage, just a day after cresting at 12.1 feet. Flood warnings were in effect across parts of the ArkLaTex due to rising water levels. Video captured Monday showed Bayou Dorcheat, one of several bodies of water under a flood warning. At that location, water levels had already reached three feet above normal.
