    SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—Shreveport police are searching for a man they believe stole a car in April. SPD said they are seeking Dijon Simpson for vehicle theft. According to police, on April 18, 2025, Simpson was reportedly seen stealing a car key and fleeing in the victim’s vehicle in the 4700 block of Hilry Huckaby Avenue. Police secured a warrant for Simpson’s arrest on one count of motor vehicle theft.

    WEBSTER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two prominent residents of Minden. The WPSO said in a news release that they were called to perform a welfare check at the home of former parish Registrar of Voters Melanie Smith, 57, and her husband, Kenny Smith, 58, a retired businessman in the 5500 block of Louisiana Highway 528, shortly after 8 p.m.Melanie Smith was sworn in as Registrar of Voters in 2003.
