It’s bluebell season in Scotland – and Perthshire’s woods are bursting with these stunning seasonal beauties. Conservation charity Woodland Trust Scotland said prolonged sun may have triggered the flowers into action a week or so earlier than usual in some places. Champion cyclist Bill Shewan from Dundee – who broke records for racing in the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and ’90s – has passed away at the age of 99. The grandfather-of-five, and great-grandfather-of-five, had devoted his life to cycling, and was considered a legend in the industry. Born on May 21, 1925, Bill grew up in Coatbridge alongside five brothers and two sisters.

Dozens reacted after we ran an article on April 25 asking whether all dogs should be muzzled in public across Tayside and Fife. The story included an interview with Dundee-based adult nursing student Dominika, who asked us not to reveal her surname. Her Jack Russell, Luna, was attacked by an America Bully in a shared garden, and required £500 of vet treatment.
