AbstractAndrogen receptor (AR)-mediated transcription plays a critical role in development and prostate cancer growth. AR drives gene expression by binding to thousands of cis-regulatory elements (CRE) that loop to hundreds of target promoters. With multiple CREs interacting with a single promoter, it remains unclear how individual AR bound CREs contribute to gene expression.

In her recent editorial, Wilmot Mayor Natasha Salonen states that “we must adopt policies that prioritize permanent housing over temporary fixes,” and “be bold and invest in a real solution — Housing First, supported by wraparound care.” She’s right. People who are addressing homelessness in our community do so out of caring and compassion.

Often, I recall the childhood excitement of the morning before a school field trip. I practically leapt from my bed, because the day was not like most. Quickly, I ran to the kitchen and packed my lunch for the journey ahead. One shoe, followed by the other; I moved through the front door. The morning dew was cold, the sun radiating onto the grass. I walked to the street corner and waited, the excitement making the minutes feel like hours.
