Danville, Pa. — A new restaurant offering Asian fusion cuisine will soon open in the heart of Danville. The restaurant, called "Koji" will be located at 554 Mill St., in what was most recently the PB&J vegan restaurant. Tom and Katie Heidt, in the final stages of a remodel, hope to cater to a variety of locals, including Geisinger workers and employees of downtown businesses.

THROOP — A Pottsville man is accused of attempting to trade $200 and a quantity of cocaine for two hours of sex, police said. Robert Hammer, 57, of 30 Pearl St., is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and patronizing a prostitute. Former tissue plant in Ransom Township lost to flames

Fire crews rushed to the former Cascades Tissue plant in Ransom Township early Wednesday morning to find it engulfed in flames. Newton Ransom Volunteer Fire Chief Jeff LaCoe said firefighters responded to a report of fire on one side of the building at about 4 a.m.. The blaze rapidly spread. LaCoe said multiple areas of the building collapsed as firefighters fought the flames, including the roof. He described the efforts of firefighters as “defensive” and said the building was a total loss.
