However, after a fire Sunday night, they are restarting in many areas. Ireland received a call from Talladega Sheriff’s Office Monday morning saying there was a significant event at the farm. When Ireland arrived, he found three inches worth of flooding and his barn in ashes.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A Birmingham family wants justice after a father was shot and killed in April 2024. They are looking for tips to help solve the case. Officers say Richard Edwards was found unresponsive, lying next to a truck in Pratt City. Birmingham Police said he was shot to death. Police believe the suspects followed Edwards, shooting at him while driving home. Officers believe the suspects were driving a Toyota Camry and followed Edwards to the 500 block of 19th Street to Holt Avenue.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - New technology is coming to train crossings in Birmingham. Trainfo is an alert system that uses cameras and sounds to alert drivers automatically when a train is blocking a railroad crossing. The Birmingham City Council voted to approve the use of ARPA funds to install the technology. This is the first time a system like this has been installed in the state of Alabama. Councilwoman Wardine Alexander said the inconvenience is a headache many Birmingham drivers deal with.

Governor Ivey’s office announced that the Crisis Center Inc. will be given more than $53,000 to help with forensic and evidence collection, and legal advocacy. Ana Sullivan is the Executive Director of the Crisis Center. She said over the last five years, they have seen a steady decline in federal funds for sexual assault services.
