    A man caught on camera breaking into a Nash County home is behind bars. Tuesday Nash County Sheriff's Office said Cornelius Crumel had been arrested after breaking into a home on April 5th. However, homeowner Yvonne Dufrene said the items stolen have not been returned. "He took my husband's grandfather's lighter, he took my husband's phone and he took my husband's game controller... and he went into my husband's shadowbox where I have, like, a little memorial for him," Dufrene said.

Mary Frye McCrimmon, the youngest of 10 children, does recall Neil Frye being caring enough to build a sled for her. One year, Neil got her a tricycle. “My sister Judy, she used to tell me he could build or make anything,” Mary said. Neil was born in 1921 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1940. Mary wasn’t born until 1937, so their interactions were limited.

    Family members rescued a Burnsville couple and their dog after Helene's floods trapped them for four days. Olivia Cooner, her boyfriend Eli Shipman and their Corgi terrier dog are now staying with family on Topsail Island. "We are in indefinite displacement and figuring it out day by day," Cooner said. Cooner said they got no notices to evacuate last week before the storm. They bought enough food, water and dog food to get them through a couple of days without power.
