One person was killed and three injured in a crash early Friday on N.C. Highway 27 in Johnston County. State Highway Patrol said a driver headed east swerved into the westbound lane and hit a truck just after midnight. That driver, a 33-year-old man, died, and his passenger and two people in the truck were injured. The road was closed for about two hours.

A man was found dead in a car at a Raleigh shopping center Tuesday morning. Police said the call came in around 4:30 a.m. According to police, officers responded to 2901 Sherman Oak Place for a welfare check after it was reported that a person was seen slumped over in a car. When officers arrived, they determined the person was dead. This happened at McNeill Pointe & Shops along Wake Forest Road. Police said they're not searching for a suspect at this time and there is no threat to the public.

House of Art goes up in flames in downtown RaleighAround 3 a.m., the fire department was called to a fire at House of Art. Luckily, authorities said no one was hurt in the fire. The bar shared the news on Instagram Tuesday morning. "Early Tuesday morning...we woke to heartbreaking news: House of Art, our beloved creative space in Raleigh, was on fire," the business said on Instagram. "Our hearts are shattered.

Part of Interstate 40 West was shut down in Wake County Tuesday morning after a person was hit and killed on the interstate. According to Raleigh police, a man pulled over on the right shoulder of westbound I-40, got out of his car and walked into traffic, where he was hit by two trucks and a car. Police did not release the identity of the man who died. No one had been charged with a crime. Traffic delays were heavy near the I-440/U.S. 1 interchange in Cary for several hours.
