As a cold front sweeps through the Delaware Valley toward the shore, winds will switch over from the southwest to the northwest, effectively cooling the region down quite a bit for Easter Sunday. Temperatures on Sunday morning will start in the upper 50s (northwest) to the low 60s before warming back to around 70 degrees Sunday afternoon. Easter Sunday is mainly dry, with mixed skies and a trend toward a bit more sunshine by the afternoon. Winds will lighten up as the day progresses.

A warm front lifting north through the area Saturday night was responsible for the late-night showers, but quickly on its heels is a cold front that will drift into the area to bring more showers to the region through midday.

The weekend will kick off on a cool note with temperatures Saturday morning in the mid-upper 30s, but a steady warm-up is in store through the day despite a mix of sun and clouds. High pressure centered over the lower Mississippi Valley will help direct a southwesterly flow into the Northeast which will help temperatures climb into the low-middle 60s Saturday afternoon.

It's been an unusually windy start to the year! Since the start of 2025, the Philadelphia region has had 30 days with wind gusts at 30 mph or greater. This is the second most ever recorded. "It has not been very fun for me," said Alexandria Wentz. As a sales representative who works outside, it's no surprise the past week for Wentz hasn't exactly been a breeze. "We got to walk building to building," Wentz said.

Snow...While it's not unheard of it's not what many want to see this time of year. The Poconos received a little more than 1" of snow last night and will get the chance for more snow overnight. There may also be a few spots in the northern Lehigh Valley with a grassy coating. https://t.co/yUndtsQqDa

❄️A LITTLE SPRING SNOW?❄️ As colder air mixes in on the northwest side of the storm system Saturday morning snow will begin to mix in over the higher elevations. Accumulations of more than an inch are possible in the Poconos with a coating POSSIBLE in the norther Lehigh Valley. https://t.co/n4J1R4Adix

WEATHER GEEK MOMENT | Local radar imagery shows rain, but nothing on the ground. Technically it IS raining about 7,000 ft up, but that rain is evaporating before reaching the ground as it falls into dry air at the surface. This evaporative cooling has actually dropped our temps! https://t.co/JudE1xP95P
