An Aurora resident has been sentenced to 14 years in the Department of Corrections following a conviction of vehicular homicide and fleeing the scene, charges that stem from an incident in Parker in 2023. In late February, a jury found Tory Conyers, 46, guilty of vehicular homicide, hit-and-run causing death, reckless driving, eluding law enforcement and theft.

The bond for Nevaeha Crowley-Sanders, the 23-year-old woman facing charges related to a shooting at Main Event entertainment center in Highlands Ranch earlier this year, was reduced. Following her arrest in early February, Crowley-Sanders has been held on a $1 million cash surety bond. In a packed courtroom at the Douglas County Justice Center in Castle Rock Monday afternoon, Douglas County District Court Judge Elizabeth Volz reduced Crowley-Sanders’ bond to $250,000 cash surety.

Early election results show that Tammy Essmeier and Juli Faller are likely to serve on the board of directors for Highlands Ranch Water. The water district’s board of directors is made up of five individuals who serve four-year terms. They are responsible for overseeing the operation of the water facility, as well as financials and setting policies. Of the 11 candidates who ran for the two seats available, Essmeier is the only incumbent.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who was involved in a menacing incident in Highlands Ranch on April 30. A White male, believed to be in his late teens or early twenties, according to authorities, threatened a female driver in what they are calling a road-rage incident involving a minor traffic dispute. At one point, the suspect allegedly reversed his vehicle aggressively and nearly struck the victim.

Women battling cancer from across the south metro area were invited to AdventHealth Parker hospital for a free event that would help them gain that piece of identity back. But instead of going to the hospital for treatment, the patients got a day of pampering.
