The evening began with an hour-long musical program in the Concert Hall. Then the audience headed outdoors where the temperature was at the freezing mark. After brief remarks from Mayor Harry Rilling, the tree was lit. Then sirens were heard, signaling the arrival of Santa Claus on a fire engine.

NORWALK, Conn. — The city’s fleet of electric vehicles expanded Wednesday with the debut of two police cars emblazoned with the colors and mascots of Norwalk’s two high schools.
