    This annual chore continues (although it is harder now without Nancy’s tutelage!): I will offer 10 predictions for Norwalk in 2025, and I must score my effort from one year ago. Okay, some of these were rather easy, but given there aren’t any rules for predictions, I will take what I can get.

    DARIEN, Conn. – State Representative Tracy Marra (R-141) and Deputy Republican Leader Tom O’Dea (R-125) will host a legislative forum on Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Darien Town Hall, Room 119, located at 2 Renshaw Road. Norwalk residents in the 141st district are encouraged to attend the free event to learn more about the upcoming 2025-2027 legislative session and share their concerns or ideas with their representatives.

    The latest annual report on crime in Connecticut municipalities reveals that Norwalk’s crime rates in two out of three categories ran counter to the state trends in 2023, according to Police Chief James Walsh. That statistical divergence is a measure of the progress his department is making in areas including community partnerships, heightened vigilance, and hiring success, Walsh said. His comments came in a wide-ranging interview as he approaches his second year of tenure as police chief.
