    Hundreds of Stirling runners laced up their trainers for a challenge on Wednesday evening (May 7), competing in the 50th Dumyat Hill Race. The University of Stirling’s flagship running event all started because of a bet made on campus in 1972. It has evolved into an annual hill race, involving a 390-metre climb across 8 kilometres of tough terrain. The Courier’s photographer Eve Conroy was there to capture the energy and the stunning Stirling scenery.

    Thousands of revellers descended on bars and clubs across Dundee for the 27th Dundee Dance Event. The largest gathering of its kind in Scotland, about 200 DJs and artists performed at 30 venues on Sunday into Monday. Acts including Billy Morris, Van Damn and the event’s organiser, Mike McDonald, took to the decks. There was also a surprise performance from Hannah Laing in the LiveHouse car park, also known as the Rave Cave.

    East Scryne Fruit Farm reopened the tearoom and fruit farm for the first time this year on Wednesday, 30th April. Families visited the farm on a hot sunny day and enjoyed their first ice creams of the year. The friendly staff served up treats in the tearoom. Children had a blast in the play park with an enormous bouncy pillow, straw bale castle, swing, sandpit, strawberry cottage, and picnic tables.     Hundreds of classic car fans visited an Aberdeenshire castle on Sunday for one of the region’s biggest shows of its kind. The Grampian Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club’s (JEC) Annual Gathering and Car Show held at Drum Castle is one of the north-east’s most popular car shows. Held since 2000, the event is a much-anticipated occasion for Jaguar enthusiasts all over Grampian and it did not disappoint. The event also supports local charities, raising over £80,000 over the course of several years.

    Nearly 1,500 people ran, jogged and walked their way through Dundee’s Camperdown Park on Sunday as Race for Life returned to the city. The event is held each year to raise money for Cancer Research UK. As well as the 5k and 10k events, participants could also complete Pretty Muddy – a mud-splattered obstacle course – while youngsters taking on their own challenge in Pretty Muddy Kids.
