The event recognizes the work being done downtown, while also making room for networking and entertainment. βWe just wanted to change it up a little but,β said executive director, Erin Klaus. βMake it a little bit more low key. (WEAU) - A new AI pilot program took off at Eleva-Strum about a month ago, including grades 4-12. βAI is not your friend but rather just like a tutor, or a helper, or a teacher,β said Allie Gorman, 4th grade teacher at Eleva-Strum Elementary. The program uses both traditional and non-traditional learning to keep students on track. βGetting to learn how to do math in a bunch of different ways,β said Alivia, a 4th grader.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A new hospital is officially coming to Chippewa Falls. Chippewa Falls City Council approved the land sale with Aspirus Health Tuesday night. The sale was approved in 5-0 vote. Last week, Aspirus received conditional use permit to build the hospital. In November, Aspirus announced itβs intent to address the health care gaps in the area. This followed the closure of HSHS St. Josephβs hospital.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A man was arrested and charged on Friday in connection to a garage fire in Clark County. Police say on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 11:30 p.m., crews responded to a garage fire on Park Street in the city of Neillsville. Authorities found the unattached garage fully engulfed in flames. During police interviews, Christian A. Doss admitted to setting an object on fire inside the garage that was left unattended. Doss was arrested on Friday, Feb. 14.

The goal is to relieve tension between those districts and the city council. But what exactly is a business improvement district and what changes are being made? Eau Claire has four business improvement districts, or βBIDS.β In short, they are areas that voluntarily choose to tax themselves.
