If you are expecting something in the mail, you will have to wait another day. President Joe Biden declared Thursday, Jan. 9, as a to honor the 39th president of the United States, Jimmy Carter. Federal offices will be closed. Most federal employees will have the day off, but it is not considered a national holiday.

Winter weather continues to impact Greater Cleveland with off and on snow showers and high winds in the forecast today. Gusty winds and cold temperatures are expected to continue the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service. The City of Cleveland is responding by extending hours for its warming centers. The Division of Recreation will keep warming centers open from Monday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 9.

Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, is the time to celebrate the service of all U.S. veterans. It is a federal holiday observed each year on Nov. 11. Banks and government offices will be closed, ; you won’t receive any mail that day. There is less than one week until Election Day, but many Cuyahoga County voters aren’t waiting until Tuesday. On Monday, Oct. 28, voters cast 3,700 early in-person ballots. More than 41,000 in-person ballots have been cast since early voting started on Oct. 8. Statewide, more than 1.8 million Ohioans have voted early ahead of the Nov.
