    Reform UK leader Nigel Farage is in Morpeth today to launch his party's campaign for the Northumberland Local Elections. The Clacton MP will meet Reform candidates at the Waterford Lodge before doing a walkabout on the high street. Mr Farage is the third national party leader to visit the county ahead of the election, after Kemi Badenoch of the Conservatives and Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer. It comes after Mr Farage made his Reform UK campaign speech in County Durham on Tuesday lunchtime.

    It's going to be some party tonight for Newcastle fans! The Magpies have ended 70 years of hurt by winning the Carabao Cup final. Goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak secured the historic win at Wembley, making it the first domestic trophy triumph since the 1955 FA Cup. Eddie Howe’s men took full advantage in front of a crowd of 88,513 as he became the first English manager to win a domestic trophy since Harry Redknapp in 2008.

    Hundreds of people gathered in Alnwick on Shrove Tuesday for an unusual tradition which has been going for over 200 years. The annual Shrovetide Football match, known locally as Scoring the Hales, took place in the fields surrounding Alnwick Castle between the rival parishes of St. Michael and St. Paul. It has been going for 207 years and is said to be one of only five games left that are still played in the country.
