    A LOCAL photographer has captured breath-taking new images of the northern lights above Ardmair, near Ullapool. While on the A835 road north of Ullapool last night (April 15), Dave Stewart snapped these stunning images of the aurora borealis dancing in the sky above Ardmair beach in Wester Ross.     A man sat frozen in fear as a woman held a knife to his throat and her companion forced their victim to transfer £100 to his bank account. In the dock of Inverness Sheriff Court was 44-year-old Daniel McLean of Mansfield Estate, Tain who admitted, while acting with another, assaulting the man in his home on November 22, 2022 at King Edward Court, Invergordon and robbing him of the cash and a soundbar.

    LOCALS have warned of a mega pothole on the A832 that “could cause serious damage”. The large pothole on the A832 at Badavanich, by Loch a’ Chroisg, in Wester Ross has recently been flagged by a concerned local resident — however others claim that the road hollow has been there for weeks, or maybe months. One local dubbed the pothole as “Loch a’ Chroisg Beag”, roughly meaning “Little Loch a’ Chroisg” in Gaelic.

    AN Evanton trishaw project is already contagiously “putting a smile on people’s faces” in the village, with hopes of reducing loneliness and getting folk into the outdoors. Back in 2023, Evanton was loaned a trishaw from the Cycling Without Age scheme to see how the community would benefit from it. Two years later, the Evanton Community Trust in collaboration with the Trishaw Trundlers have officially secured their own trishaw.
