Peter Doyle will perform his ‘Reading Town Song’ for the first time at Party on the Hill on Saturday, June 21. The track, which is said to be a “modern-day musical ode to Reading”, is a tribute to Reading’s vibrant music scene, diverse culture, and rich heritage. It is also a celebration of the town’s evolving landscape and modernisation.

The necklace was purchased by then-up-and-coming Berkshire actress Suzanna Leigh in 1962 on the King’s Road in London. Shortly afterwards she acted in her first television role, which led to her being cast as Elvis Presley’s love interest, June ‘Friday’ Hudson in the 1966 film Paradise, Hawaiian Style. It is going under the hammer at Auctioneum in Bristol on June 30th and is expected to attract world-wide interest.

Shanan Bryant, 30, played a housemaid in seasons five and six and in the first film of the iconic period drama. She says being a part of the series was like "stepping back in time" and she even received a pot of homemade jam from Sophie McShera, who played Daisy. The new film Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale was teased this week.
