    Local MPs have shared their reactions to recently released figures on raw sewage spills last year into the waterways of northern Lincolnshire. Water companies spilled raw sewage for a record time of 3.61m hours into the sea and rivers in England in 2024, according to recently released Environment Agency data. The amount of sewage that went directly into a North East Lincolnshire chalk stream, Laceby Beck, increased last year too.

An application was made to get a renewed licence for Folk in Cambridge Street, Cleethorpes, after its previous licence expired due to the company it belonged to being dissolved. It has operated on a temporary licence basis in the meantime. However, objectors raised concerns over public disorder, and noise nuisance. Councillors decided on the licence application and allowed it.

    2 1/1 Campaigners against large-scale pylon and solar farm projects in Lincolnshire have challenged Ed Miliband over a claim about the amount of agricultural land to be taken up by solar farms. The newly-created Lincolnshire Against Needless Destruction (LAND) has said it will investigate all large-scale infrastructure projects and fight those that do not already have active campaigns against them.
