Pennsylvania is facing a “teacher shortage crisis” with the need in several counties in the region classified as “extremely severe,” according to a new report. #PANeedsTeachers, a coalition led by Teach Plus and the National Center on Education and the Economy, issued a county-by-county report that described the shortages in Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry and Lebanon counties as “extremely severe”— it’s worst rating. Teacher shortages were rated as mild, moderate, severe and extremely severe.
