Mayberry is an 8-year-old American Staffordshire mix that came in as a stray. Mayberry did very well with other dogs and he approaches them very happily. He pretty much ignored cats in the cat room and will let you take his food bowl. Mayberry loves his stuffed toys and snuggles up with them in his bed.

    JACKSON, MI -- The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption. Here are two of them. JoJo is a handsome chocolate brown, 1-year-old Golden Retriever and Labrador mix. He is so eager to learn new things. JoJo came in as a stray and was in rough shape. He had lost most of his hair and was very thin. Now, a month later, he is looking better and can’t wait to find his forever home. JoJo is friendly, happy and got along with a household cat and chihuahua.

She is medium sized and a complete sweetheart. Belle loves people and is good with other dogs. She is still learning and would be a great addition to a family. With Belle being young and a shepherd mix, she can be high in energy. She would need a family who is active and would not do well in a crate too long.

Joey is an Australian Cattle dog mix and is a medium sized dog at 32 pounds. Joey is friendly and loves to hang out with his human. He is just 1-year-old and still learning new things. Cattle dogs are herding dogs with lots of energy. Joey would love a big fenced yard or farm work. He would not do well in a crate, contained for hours with a working parent.

Sir Charles is a 6-year-old American Staffordshire mix who came in as a stray. This friendly brown and white boy is house trained, walks nicely on the leash and knows some basic commands. He is gentle with no jumping or pulling. If you don’t have time to do all the puppy training, here is your guy, all ready to go.
