JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Over the past three weeks, farmers have been battling rising river and drainage ditch levels, setting some of them behind their planting schedule. Farmers like Zach Carter of Greene County are eager to get their crops in the fields, but with more rain on the way, they could be delayed even more. “Some of them that have been doing this for 50+ years have never seen anything like it. Historic for sure,” Greene County farmer Zach Carter said.

TRUMANN, Ark. (KAIT) - Firefighters in Trumann moved into their brand-new home with new upgrades and a larger facility to better serve the people of Trumann. The new station is built to new code standards and has new systems to help firefighters and those in need. It has been over 4 years since the 20 Trumann firefighters have had a place to call home. Construction of Station 1 began over a year ago. Now it houses all the trucks and is staffed 24 hours a day.

TRUMANN, Ark. (KAIT) - This has led to a few of the sirens failing during the most recent tests. With severe weather in the forecast Thursday, residents in Trumann should not worry: there are still 3 operational sirens in city limits. Fire Chief Revis Kemper said the sirens are for warning those outdoors, and everyone should have another way to receive tornado warnings. “Three of the six will work if you are outside.
