QUITMAN, Texas (KETK) – The City of Quitman held a funeral procession on Thursday in honor of a local fallen hero who died on April 2. Quitman Mayor Randy Dunn issued a proclamation to lower all U.S. flags to be at half-staffed on Thursday in honor of Senior Airman Fabian Roman. Roman was a member of the 2016 Quitman High School class. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in several countries around the world, including the Republic of Korea and Germany.

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — An arrest affidavit for three Tyler ISD staff members has shed new details on an incident that occurred in March, where a student’s hands were bound with tape and was forced to walk for hours. Documents obtained from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office show that Tyler High School administration contacted the Tyler ISD police department to request camera footage from the Life Skills room on March 12.

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KETK) — Officials have located the body of a man they believe has been missing since January. This is the second body found as part of the missing persons investigation. The Lufkin Police Department said they discovered a body they believe to be Michael Allen in the 5900 block of Old Tyler Road in Nacogdoches County. Various officials are at the scene, including the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, Angelina County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers.

HOUSTON, Texas (KETK) – A 12-year-old from Center ISD accomplished an impressive feat during the Houston Rodeo this week by selling a market barrow pig for a record $501,000. Dallas Martinez, who is currently in sixth grade, was named Junior Market Barrow Grand Champion and sold his championship market barrow pig for $501,000, which breaks the previous record by $100,000. Martinez has been competing in major stock shows since he was nine years old.

TYLER, Texas (KETK)- Diocese of Tyler introduced their new bishop during a installation ceremony on Monday. Bishop Greg Kelly has joined the Diocese of Tyler after serving as the auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Dallas since 2016. Kelly was appointed on Dec. 20, 2024, but was not officially installed. Kelly will be the fifth bishop to serve the Diocese of Tyler. Kelly will embrace this new chapter of life while doing everything he can to serve every member of the diocese.
