    ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A ridge of high pressure is going to bring in some sunshine and blocking storms for a portion of the weekend. The next low will encroach on southwest Alaska on Saturday night/Sunday with increasing clouds in southcentral Sunday night. Rain will continue over southeast Alaska, at least through Saturday. Sunday is likely to hold improved weather conditions. Interior Alaska will benefit from high pressure building over mainland areas.

Calm conditions are showing up in mainland areas. Skies are clearing and that will lead to widespread warming into the weekend. Southeast will still see rain from continuing low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska. Rainfall amounts are expected to be moderate through the weekend.

    ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Clouds building through the afternoon in southcentral. Lightning was showing up in the western interior. Chances of rain and snow are continuing in the forecast. Light rain fell over the Aleutians. Winds are tapering off in the interior and southcentral. The chance of showers will linger over much of the state through Thursday. One upper level low provides an influx of mixed showers through the interior and moving south and out of the picture by Thursday.
