ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Temperatures are still pleasant but have cooled considerably since Solstice and last weekend. Even so, thunderstorms are popping up in the afternoons and evenings. Flood advisory continues for Yentna and Skwentna rivers and the Matanuska River near Butte. The influx of water into river systems is a result of the warm and sunny weather conditions that highlighted last week. Scattered showers will remain across much of the state into tomorrow.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Cloudy skies over southcentral on Monday, with a chance of showers persisting in the forecast, especially along coastal areas. That means the Aleutian arc, southwest and southcentral. Interior Alaska is seeing convective activity kick up again. Lightning was increasing Monday afternoon and evening, associated with scattered thunderstorms in the interior. An upper level trough over Bering Sea helps to steer low pressure into southern areas of the state.

Warm and hazy conditions are anticipated over southcentral and southeast. High temperatures will hit the 60s and 70s. Temperatures climb to the 80s in the interior. ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - A heat advisory for the Haines highway and Klukwan for temperatures up to 80 are expected Thursday. This is the first summer the National Weather Service is issuing heat advisories for Alaska. Interior Alaska was under a heat advisory earlier in the week. Warm again in the interior, with temps hitting the 80s. And because it is dry and windy, Red Flag fire conditions remain, with warnings in place going into Wednesday evening.
