A wild interaction happened overnight for a woman in Bedford County. Madison Dalton was having a normal Wednesday night, making cookies in her Bedford County home. Then she heard loud noises outside. Just a couple of minutes later, a bear was staring at her through the window. Athena is Dalton's normally calm German Shepherd, but not so much on Wednesday night. "I hear this loud crash. Roanoke College is holding a national bone marrow registry drive on Wednesday, in hopes of finding a matching donor for a sophomore student, Eddie Kaufman. Eddie, a member of the Roanoke College baseball team, was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia last fall. He and his family are now searching for a blood stem cell donor to complete a crucial part of his treatment.
