PORT ORANGE, Fla. - Two Walgreens employees were shot and injured at a Walgreens in Port Orange on Wednesday afternoon and the suspected shooter is dead, police said. Police said they were dispatched to the Walgreens located at 1625 Taylor Road around 5:26 p.m. in reference to an active shooter. Port Orange police, along with officers from surrounding agencies, responded and located the suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the parking lot.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Three bears were trapped and killed after an 89-year-old Collier County man and his dog were killed, according to an update from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. FWC officials said that 89-year-old Robert Markel and his dog were killed after the suspected fatal bear attack. The incident occurred Monday near the intersection of State Road 29 and U.S. 41, just south of the Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area, the FWC said in a statement.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A 73-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Orange County on Monday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened at Silver Star Road and Powers Drive around 7:30 p.m.According to a crash report, a Nissan Altima was traveling east in the inside lane of Silver Star Road, east of Powers Drive. At the same time, a pedestrian was walking north from the south shoulder on Silver Star Road.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - A 41-year-old woman is accused of pretending to be a police officer during a confrontation over a parking spot, according to an arrest affidavit. Officials said that on April 29, Port Orange police met with a man who said he was approached by an unknown woman in the parking lot of the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 3811 Clyde Morris Boulevard because he parked in a spot marked for law enforcement vehicles.
