(WOWT) - Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds are headed to Texas this weekend to receive an in-person security update on the situation at the southern U.S. border. The trip, about six months after their last visit to the border, will take them to Eagle Pass, Texas, where thousands of migrants have passed into the country, making it a flashpoint in the U.S. immigration debate.

Society attempts to get us to think that therapy 'should' be the last step and is only for people who have "chaotic problems". This plays a huge part in why clients don't seek therapy initially. My client could complete daily tasks, attend work, and socialise, but she was significantly unhappy in her relationship.

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - The Nebraska Legislature is back to work. After a drama-filled session last year, an emphasis is being made early to get senators to work together - not against each other. A number of bills were introduced Wednesday, including some aimed at worker shortages. Some bills of note include several from State Sen. Carol Blood of Bellevue that presented at committee for review last year. Among them: LB-822, LB-823, LB-824.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Plans for the Omaha streetcar are on track. The Omaha Streetcar Authority met Monday afternoon to approve a route phasing plan for the streetcar, next year's budget, as well as plans for a bid document for a private operator when the time comes. All three items were approved unanimously Monday afternoon. The Streetcar Authority plans to meet again to discuss the project late next month. Mainline construction is planned for sometime between next summer and spring of 2027.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The FBI Omaha Field Office launched its part of the National Hate Crime Awareness campaign, an effort to educate the public about the impact of hate crimes and encourage public to report them. "A hate crime isn't just an attack on a victim or group of victims, it' really an event meant to strike fear into an entire community. Our community," said Eugene Kowel, Special Agent in Charge. The national campaign launched this year.
