A second Darlington foodbank has announced it has cut back its support due to funding difficulties. St Mary's Church, Cockerton, said it is struggling to maintain its foodbank service and warned it could close within months. Visitors will now be offered one food bag a month from May. York Council is gearing up to remind revellers to use the loo before leaving pubs, clubs, and bars in a bid to crack down on street urination. Offenders caught in the act will face a £100 fine, a move the council believes will "contribute to a safer, better-managed and vibrant night-time economy". Following 4,200 reported cases of public urination on York's streets throughout 2023-2024, a city-wide Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) has been given the green light.
