SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested for shooting at two women and then shooting himself. Nathan Burnett, 41, of San Angelo, has been arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon for shooting at two women before turning the gun on himself. According to court documents, on March 2, 2024, around 2:45 a.m., San Angelo police responded to River Pointe Apartment, located at 1140 Benedict Drive regarding a shooting victim.

SAN ANGELO, TX — A local film and television star is being celebrated here in San Angelo on his birthday. Fess Parker, the famous actor who played Davy Crockett in film and in a miniseries, is being honored by San Angelo with a film festival at Fort Concho on August 16, 2024, which is also Parker’s birthday. Parker was born in Fort Worth, Texas but was raised near San Angelo. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and eventually ended up with the United State Marine Corps.

DALLAS, TX— The Dallas Cowboys have signed and traded for some depth on the defensive line. Yesterday, August 14, the Dallas Cowboys made a trade with the New York Giants. The Cowboys sent over a 2026 sixth round draft pick for defensive lineman Jordan Phillips and a 2026 seventh round draft pick. Phillips was a second-round draft pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and has for the Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, and the Giants in his career.

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo woman has been arrested after beating a man with a baseball bat. Christine Kimbele, 43, of San Angelo, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after hitting a man with a baseball bat. According to court documents, on August 14, 2024, Tom Green County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of North Grape Creek Road regarding a possible assault.
