HUGER, S.C. (WCBD) - Crews worked through the night Sunday to extinguish a large outside fire, according to the Cainhoy Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. by the railroad crossing on Charity Church Road in Huger. The department said that heavy fire was visible springing from a laydown yard full of thousands of railroad ties. No injuries were reported from the fire, and its cause remains under investigation.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - A section of a busy North Charleston roadway is currently blocked off due to downed power lines. Dorchester Road at Constitution Avenue is shut down in both directions after a power pole and lines fell. Traffic is being rerouted while crews work to clear the scene, the North Charleston Police Department said. A collision that resulted in minor injuries caused the pole to fall. Police said the road is expected to reopen by 1 a.m.
