DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - A former Summerville police officer accused of murder after shooting a man outside Chick-fil-A is suing the local chapter of a fraternal law enforcement organization for not covering his legal defense. Attorneys Ronald Richter and Eric Bland filed the suit on behalf of Anthony DeLustro against the Fraternal Order of Police Summerville-Dorchester Lodge #48 on Wednesday.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - Police in Charleston have arrested a woman for a Memorial Day shooting that happened downtown. Teamoni Tameka Malloy, 25, of North Charleston, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Officers responded to the Bridgeview Village Apartments around 5 p.m. Monday for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the adult victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, the police agency said.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - A suspected gang member was sentenced to life in a South Carolina prison after committing a triple murder in 2020. A Berkeley County jury found Jay Quan Tyheim Washington guilty of the murders of Malik Gibbs, Desmond Williams, and Martice Green. As a result, Honorable Dale Van Slambrook sentenced Washington to life in prison. On the day of the murders, Jan. 20, 2020, Washington was a passenger driven by one of the victims while the other two were also passengers.
