    HUGER, S.C. (WCBD) - Crews worked through the night Sunday to extinguish a large outside fire, according to the Cainhoy Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. by the railroad crossing on Charity Church Road in Huger. The department said that heavy fire was visible springing from a laydown yard full of thousands of railroad ties. No injuries were reported from the fire, and its cause remains under investigation.

    NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - A section of a busy North Charleston roadway is currently blocked off due to downed power lines. Dorchester Road at Constitution Avenue is shut down in both directions after a power pole and lines fell. Traffic is being rerouted while crews work to clear the scene, the North Charleston Police Department said. A collision that resulted in minor injuries caused the pole to fall. Police said the road is expected to reopen by 1 a.m.

    DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - State troopers have found the vehicle believed to have struck and killed a City of Goose Creek employee. The South Carolina Highway Patrol found a Hyundai SUV that they suspect was involved in the deadly collision, although no suspects have been arrested yet. 46-year-old Kelly Farmer was struck April 13 on Dorchester Road while walking near Tabby Lane. Farmer worked as a water distribution operator for the city's Department of Public Works.

    CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)-State agents charged a Charleston woman last week after they determined she had created a fake eviction notice. 29-year-old Virginia Skye Coaxum was charged with forgery of less than $10,000 on Friday, the State Law Enforcement Division said. Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office executed an eviction on a tenant of the Marrington Village Apartment back in December 2024. Authorities later discovered the notice was faked and SLED was asked to investigate.
