The Columbia River Gorge has no shortage of natural wonders, but its newest attraction stands out for being human-made yet stunningly integrated with the landscape. In a recent episode of the Peak Northwest podcast, hosts Jamie Hale and Chiara Profenna explored the newly opened Mitchell Point Tunnel, a remarkable feat of engineering that’s redefining how visitors experience the gorge. “The visuals already look insane,” remarked Profenna after seeing photos of the tunnel.

It’s not every day that you get a brand new attraction in the Columbia River Gorge. On this week’s episode of Peak Northwest, we head out to the new Mitchell Point Tunnel, open to pedestrians and cyclists only, found on the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail west of Hood River. The 665-foot tunnel, which features rock windows that open to spectacular views of the Columbia Gorge, is one of the most impressive human-made attractions in the Columbia Gorge.

Hard to be so concerned about AI when it currently can't tell the difference between Washington, D.C. and Washington state🧅

Amazon is flooded with AI-generated DC travel guides (written by fake authors) full of garbage information like this: https://t.co/2iDaB7M8Op https://t.co/ZAMo8p5Tg6

Peak Northwest is a finalist in the @signalawards! If you feel like signing up with them and voting for us, please feel free – but more importantly, just give us a listen sometime! https://t.co/S7O698je78
