SOUTH LOOP — A beloved South Loop movie theater is back under new management. AMC Roosevelt Collection 16 opened Friday in the former Showplace Icon, 1011 S. Delano Court, nearly a year after the theater closed. AMC Theatres took over the space in November after its original operator, Kerasotes Showplace Theatres LLC, went out of business last year. The theater will open with five screens, with 14 of its 16 auditoriums set to be open by May 2. The Dolby and IMAX auditoriums will open this summer.

SOUTH LOOP — Another longtime business is making its exit from the South Loop. JC Licht Ace Hardware, 725 S. State St. in Printer’s Row, will close next month after 23 years in the neighborhood. The store’s final day is May 24. The reason for the closure is unclear. Calls to the corporate offices were not returned.
